Computer Aided Design
Gerber Computer Design System
Up until March of 2000 we were doing all
of our production the
" traditional " way, of the old stonecutters. Everything was laid out,
cut and traced by hand. It was time consuming and the customer did
not get to see their design until the product was finished. This is
when we decided to add the Gerber GS750plus
to our company.
The Gerber
system is from the Gerber Scientific Company in Manchester, Connecticut.
The Gerber system has thousands of designs and pieces. You can chose
from an already made design, or mix and match different aspects of several
memorials into one. We can incorporate hobbies, religions, florals,
organizational emblems, and sceneries, or just about anything you can
imagine to personalize your memorial.
There are over 128 different lettering styles you can choose from
and we have a website that we can find just about anything you are
looking for,
if we do not have it on hand.
We are the only company in the area that you can sit down with
the computer designer and watch them design your memorial, This way you
can help in the design process. There is no timely waiting for your
design to be sent, and resent, to you. You change it as it is being
created and leave with a drawing of exactly what your memorial will look
like. This also saves on the communication process.
Why should you, describe to one person, what you would like, and have
them relay it to another person, who in turn relays it to another, when
you can be a part of the process and have them design your memorial, as
you tell them, what you would like to see and incorporate. This is done
for you at no extra charge.
After you have designed your monument and signed your approval, the
design is then saved into the computer, and a copy is attached to your
contract for the engravers. The design is then sent to the plotter.
The plotter is a device that takes the information from the computer
and cuts it into rubber, making a template. The advantage of the
computer, is, everything is unified. It cuts the template exactly as
you saw it on the computer. After the template is cut it is then proof
read before delivery to the shop for the work to be done.
